Housing & Feeding
SMART AND CONNECTED TECHNOLOGIES
HOUSING SIYSTEM
We have developed an innovative housing system that improves the efficiency of the entire production process.
Thanks to our proprietary integrated software, it is possible to monitor key production parameters in real time, ensuring efficient management and complete control.
ADVANCED FEEDING SYSTEM
We also developed an advanced feeding system that automatically adjusts feed dosage based on the animals’ live weight and growth curves. This results in even feed distribution and a significant reduction in waste.
SENSORS % KPI’S
Equipped with smart sensors, the system constantly detects both the quantity and quality of the feed. Data is sent to the PLC, which intervenes in real time to adjust the feeding frequency. An intuitive interface allows operators to configure custom growth programs, analyze KPIs such as daily feed intake and feed conversion ratio, and receive alerts in case of anomalies.
IoT CONNECTIVITY
IoT connectivity allows cloud data storage and the use of machine learning algorithms for predictive maintenance, increasing operational efficiency and extending component lifespan.
This modular and scalable solution is characterized by high energy and operational efficiency, providing a quick ROI and significantly improving growth rates.

Thanks to our deep connection with the land, we’ve created a substrate enriched with local minerals, capable of maintaining optimal humidity levels. This innovative material has proven highly effective in preventing humidity fluctuations and promoting the hatching of Acheta domesticus eggs.

FOOD
Edible insects are regulated in Europe under Novel Food Regulation (EU 2015/2283). After the approval of Tenebrio molitor in 2021, Acheta domesticus also received positive opinions from EFSA. As of January 2023, a Vietnamese company was granted commercial authorization.
Currently, Alphafood is preparing its scientific dossier to obtain authorization by 2025, helping make insects a central ingredient in sustainable nutrition.

Thanks to our in-depth analysis, we isolated a yeast from our flour (Yarrowia lipolytica), now recognized as a Novel Food. Alphafood is now exploring cosmetic applications due to its extraordinary natural properties.
