What makes an AlphaFood bar unique?
AlphaFood bars contain 45% complete protein, with no hydrolyzed collagen or filler ingredients. They are made in Italy with real superfoods — maca, damiana, moringa, pea protein — and a certified microdose of cricket flour, enough to complete the amino acid profile without altering taste or texture. Production takes place at -7°C using proprietary cryo-extrusion technology, which preserves the nutritional properties of the ingredients. The result is a protein snack that delivers what it promises on the label.
What superfoods do you use and why did you choose them?
Maca, damiana, moringa, cricket flour, and pea protein are functional ingredients selected for their specific nutritional properties: maca supports energy and stress resistance, damiana contributes to metabolic well-being, moringa provides essential micronutrients, and pea protein completes the amino acid profile in a plant-based way. We don't choose them to follow a trend: we choose them because every ingredient has a precise and measurable function in the final product.
What is the difference between AlphaFood proteins and traditional whey proteins?
Whey proteins are derived from milk and contain lactose — making them unsuitable for those who are intolerant or follow a dairy-free diet. AlphaFood proteins combine complementary sources — calcium caseinate, pea protein, and a microdose of cricket flour — to achieve a complete amino acid profile without using whey. The result is a product suitable for lactose-intolerant individuals, with a lower environmental impact and an entirely Italian supply chain.
What is cricket flour and why do you use it?
Cricket flour is obtained from crickets (Acheta domesticus) raised in controlled habitats. It is a complete protein source — containing all essential amino acids — rich in vitamin B12, iron, calcium, and essential fatty acids. Its environmental impact is drastically lower than traditional animal proteins: it requires 99% less water and 90% less space than cattle farming. In AlphaFood products, it is present in a microdose: it contributes to the complete nutritional profile without changing the taste or texture of the product.
Is cricket flour safe and can I have allergies?
Yes, cricket flour is approved as a Novel Food by the European Union and is safe for human consumption. However, it can cause allergic reactions in people sensitive to crustaceans, mollusks, or dust mites, as it belongs to the same zoological family. Those with known allergies to these foods are encouraged to consult their doctor before consumption. All our products clearly list allergens on the label.
Do your products contain gluten or other common allergens?
No. Our products, with the exception of baked goods, are naturally gluten-free. Cricket flour is naturally gluten-free. For the complete allergen profile of each product, always check the label on the relevant product page on the website.

Are AlphaFood bars suitable for those on a low-calorie diet?
Yes. With about 157 kcal per 42g bar and 45% protein, AlphaFood bars are a filling and balanced snack. The high protein content slows digestion and contributes to a feeling of fullness, making them suitable as a controlled snack within a low-calorie diet. Always consult your nutritionist to evaluate their inclusion in your specific diet.
Are your products suitable for vegans?
Products with cricket flour cannot be classified as vegan, as they are derived from an insect. However, some vegans consider them ethically acceptable because insects have a very simple nervous system and their farming has a minimal environmental impact. The choice depends on individual ethical beliefs. For those following a strictly vegan diet, we recommend carefully reviewing the ingredient list for each product.
How can I track my order?
After shipping, you will receive an email with a tracking number to follow your order.
